Sierra Leone Rokupr Bookfeeding

The Rokupr Library is located in the district of Kambia. The district of Kambia is located in the northwestern province of Sierra Leone. There are many different ethnic groups, but the largest are the Temne, Susu, Fula, Madnigo and Mendes. There are about 20,000 people living in the community.

Rokupr is home to the famous Rice Research Station, which conducts scientific research on rice and other crops. It is full of national and international scientists who live in a remote area in the community. There is good cooperation between the scientists and the community. The station also provides jobs for qualified and unqualified people from the township. There are seven primary schools and five secondary schools in Rokupr, which are well attended, especially since the government introduced " free and quality education " in September 2019.

None of the township's primary schools has a library, with the exception of some secondary schools. So Victor looked for opportunities and found us through Google. After several months of project preparation we finally started our library project in spring 2020.

This library will not only benefit the pupils of Ahmadiyya Primary School, but also other primary schools and the public in general. The library will give the pupils flexible access to high-quality school materials. This will improve the students' academic performance both in class and in national examinations. Due to the long opening hours, the library can also be used as a place where pupils can spend their free time.
