Malawi Thom Allan Bookfeeding
The Malawi library is located in Thom Allan Village which forms part of the Zomba district in the south of Malawi. This project is managed by the local Positive Change Youth Organisation in collaboration with the Thom Allan Village community.
Thom Allan Village is an agricultural area with many of the community members being active in growing maize. The community members speak Chichewa and English.
This library is in its final stages, the construction is done and now it is time to fill it up with books!
When this process is finished, the library will provide several activities which are organised by the youth organisation. These activities include classes to foster adult learning, reading classes for pupils and adults, classes on newspaper publishing, cookery classes as well as poetry classes. Additionally, the library will offer games for the pupils which are organised indoor and outdoor.
The community is excited to host volunteers who could join in numerous activities. Get in touch if interested!
